So you compers? Tell us how it all works?!

Hi all,

I love lurking on this thread as everyone is so upbeat and happy with their wins!

I am a very occaisional comp-er (is that even a word?) i.e i enter if it's something i or one of family would really like.

I just wondered how much time do you guys spend comping? do you enter everything going? Even on these websites !!!!!! etc?

I know you share a lot of the links etc via MSE.

It's amazing cause you have so much success. Some major big prizes too which is excellent.

Would love to do more, but wondered how much you all do, to make it worth your while so to speak.

Maz

  • I wouldn't bother with win4me or offers sites, I am on a few comping sites and never see winners from them comps. Enter whats on here as they're all free, it's a long shot to win as some have hundreds of thousands of entries, but if your the lucky winner, whooppee. I've won loads of stuff, including a £10,000 kitchen, my biggest prize to date, it's costing me a bomb at the moment on lowest unique bids but I have won a few so the cost for the wins has been nominal. I won a Wii for 29p and a laptop for 56p, kids sorted for xmas, 10 grand kitchen £2.72p and a 50 inch plasma for 72p, so for under £500 I got over £12,000 worth of goods. I won a £5000 quad and a camcorder both tiebreaker comps, I won a lot more odds and ends.
Good Luck don't get disheartened, but make sure you enter as many comps as you can. I send hundreds of postcards off each month as well, stamps can be expensive. But the odd win here and there makes up for it, and most of the items I sell on ebay to buy more stamps. As the saying goes "You have to be in to win"

    Hi Maz,

If you have a look here it will give you an idea of how much time some of us spend on this board.

I will try and do a couple of hours as Im at home at the moment. I dont tend to enter sites like win4me or similar as you tend to get spammed a lot, and tbh I've never heard of anybody mentioning they've ever one from one.

Good Luck In Your Comping and hope to see you posting a win on here soon :)

    Bev,

Where have you won all these prizes? I have been banging on about lowest unique bid for ages but no one seems to listen to me!!! Everyone thinks they are scam operations!

Comping is all about throwing as much as you can at the wall and statisically some will stick in time . You can get better odds by finding lower entry competitions such as more obscure sites or tiebreakers.
I have a friend who won 2 cars in a year with tiebreaker comps
Best I've managed is £5000 cash (twice) so there's hope even for those who can't write witty slogans :)
If you are really serious about comping-there's a fab magazine called Grapevine which is edited by a comper who has had lots of success.

I just enter as many comps as I have time to, generally that just means trying to keep up with the ones that people kindly post on here. The wins start rolling in after a while and continue to do so steadily, sometimes you can get none for a while then several at once!

I only enter comps on here and only things for myself friends or family.
I spend about two hours a day entering comps and saying well done to the winners. I love the banter on this forum as well as entering the comps, I wouldnt have time to enter anywhere else ;)

Look through your local papers for these sort of comps, the prizes are usually from local buisnesses and there usually good, £10k kitchen not to be sniffed at...., I was and still am weary of some of them, but most I have entered are well known companys so minimum worry, let people ignore you BigNige more chance of us winning, xxxx
