Still not really shifted this coldand don't feel like going out so another batch cook planned. did a massive pot of caramelised onion in SC overnight. Well it was a massive amount of onions cooks down to what dosent look a lot at all lol. was gifted a bag of apples so SC on again for apple sauce and a four portions of chilli concarne made.

Think this afternoon I need to sort out my stash of fabric from charity shop. I got a huge blackbin bag full of duvets sheets towels curtains and pillow cases for 1.25 and have joined up for Morsbags its a scheme to make and gift shopping bags in the hope that people will use them instead of buying a plastic carrier. I am usually guilty of this as although I own a lot of shopping bags I usually forget to take one. Must try harder lol.

Spaghetti hoops on toast with grated cheese on top for lunch.
They were the L1dl 14p/tin hoops, so 7p for that bit and 4p for the 2 slices of bread... cheese was about 11p worth. So lunch was about 22p :)

I CBA cooking anything else. Got loads of food in .... just don't fancy working out what to cook/eat, so the hoops/toast won as it didn't need any thinking.
  • Kittie - good that you're starting to feel better and that the question of the location of Next House is firmly resolved (if not the house itself). Guess it's a possibility then to spend a fair bit of time in Next Location and chat to Anyone/Everyone/Their Dog and tell them "I wanna house here". It's worked for me before now.....and you never know who "knows someone who knows someone that is just about to put their house on the market".

Re those illogical 4 packets of crisps at once - I think we all "Do illogical" sometimes if things ain't quite going right.

Illogical today for me is = lunch hasnt happened yet (as I'm busy sorting out sodders - again) and had even more Bad News re the electrics in this house - (basically the new electrician has let me down):(. Total bl**dy astonishment at finding out the reason for this (in gobsmacked territory - to do with him)....and not very clear on what to do right now - and think it amounts to "tieing up the ends re him - and negotiating just how much to pay him" and finding another electrician (again....:().

Lunch is very late - and is currently consisting of wine (sorry Kittie....:o).

Forecast was right, woke up to wind & rain, immediately decided that I had loads of stuff in and no need to go out today

Breakfast was jumbo oats porridge, with some diced fresh apple, Greek yoghurt & honey

Lunch was some more of the L/O pork, with some of the L/O stuffing, in a sarnie. That piece of YS pork has done very well, made every meal since Friday and have about enough left for tomorrow's lunch. Cost about £4.50 from memory

Dinner, change from pork, sort of. Grilled gammon slice is scheduled. I bought a pack a bit back when on offer, still loads of time before BBE date but now is the time to say farewell to them.

Not exactly sure of what to have with it, I think eggs and some of the L/O boiled spuds, sliced & fried. I may combine the two into a sort of omelette
I may put some tomatoes under the grill with he gammon

    A doughnut died this morning:o
    Farway,

Did you know you can eat nasturtiums? - every part thereof = leaves (which I do sometimes), flowers, the sorta "capers"?

Yep...I think mine are "expanding" now year on year...
Thanks, I did know and do sometimes have the leaves in salad, not tried seeds as "capers" but I don't eat or use capers so no reason for me to try them.

Sorry to hear about the Electrics, what a bummer, just when you were making progress

Crisp urge, how odd, only yesterday in Morries I narrowly avoided grabbing a 6 pack of mixed crisps. I fancied a crisp sarnie, and still do. I suspect there will be one or more before Santa arrives:(

I've got as far as leaving an ansafone message saying to them that I literally don't know what to do about this and am thinking about what to do. I'm trying to be fair/logical and sort the bl**dy issue out and I'm stuck.

This is outside my "Experience Zone/Comfort Zone" of how-life-is that I honestly don't know what to do....other than reach for another glass of wine .....

....and I bought another one of my "once in a while" lottery tickets hoping to get shot of the house....though I'm now getting some younger friends here too (not just the "ones just like me" - yer middle-class/middle-aged/English/female - birds of a feather ones).

    Yes - it was.

Good point made by you. I've just been back into the scheme to tell them what has happened and ask what I should do next.

Their webpage doesnt work basically (ie the "Get In Touch" page of the site). There was a slot to put in my phone number for them to contact me - and I've tried (and re-tried) and nowt....up against brick wall. Someone somewhere in this Scheme isnt au fait with having a fully operational webpage. Stuck again.....

Feeling really grotty and for the first time since I got the cold virus last month I simply don't fancy any food whatsoever. [so caron if its the same virus you will eventually stop eating:)]

My throat is out of sorts and it has made me very out of sorts - doesnt exactly hurt but it isn't right and my whole body feels so exhausted.

There are times when I despair of ever being able to get any improvement in my circumstances. I hate having chronic illness and going from virus to virus no matter how careful I am. The house is getting as near collapse as me. And my body is making sure I just have to sit and watch!

Totally CBA with eating or anything :(

Oh for someone to come and take over cooking and prepare me something tempting. Just for once ...

    Good afternoon everyone,
Kittie glad you are feeling better and sounds though you are making progress in the moving process:)

Meg & poppystar, hope you feel better soon are giving yourself lots of tlc :grouphug:

Money - you are having some time of it. Hope you can get it sorted out without too much more angst.

Farway - a few chopped capers are lovely added to fish dishes or mixed with mayo & lemon or through coleslaw. They add a nice bit of zing to things. A simple sauce I love for white fish or salmon/trout is a bit of melted butter with a squeeze of lemon juice and a few chopped capers.:)

We've had a lot more hail & sleet and it's thoroughly misrrable outside. You can really feel the temperature dropping again:(, still it's supposed to dry up a bit for a few days though still be cold so fingers crossed the squally showers go away:)

Don't suppose you're anywhere near me?

Summat I could "get a constructive handle on" right now would make me feel a sight better.....

Doubts you're also in the "back of beyond" - so fingers crossed for you...
