I haven't watched dr who since I was at school. The silly plots, the flimsy sets. The boring buffoons who go to dr who conventions dressed as cyber men and the like. No odds to me who gets the part.

Watched it as a kid then a bit in the David Tennant/Matt Smith period but lost interest. Seems like a 'tick the box' exercise to me, particularly since the Chris Chibnail said he intended it to be a woman right from the start. So she didn't get it for being the best person for the job, but on being the best woman for the job. Positive discrimination at work, but let's call it 'equality'.

It was not meant as a 'nasty remark' and no offence was intended. But some may be offended by 'boring buffoons'!
