Virgin Money Mortgages

I wanted to share the great experience I’ve recently had with a remortgage from HSBC to Virgin Money.
From the initial contact, the staff have been extremely helpful throughout. Each time a new piece of information was reviewed by an underwriter, or any progress was made with the application a call was made to me which I thought was great. My past experiences of mortgage applications have generally involved me having to chase the mortgage lender for updates so this was very refreshing.
The application process was smooth and efficient throughout. It is no criticism to Virgin but the valuation company was busy and this part took around 2 weeks from Virgin’s instruction to the valuer. Once the valuation had taken place Virgin called within 2 hours of opening the next working day and confirmed the offer was in the post and had been sent to the conveyancer.
I highly recommend Virgin Money. The added bonus of access to their city lounges is also a great perk!
6th June – Application submitted by phone
7th June – First set of documents submitted to the underwriter
15th June – Initial contact from the underwriter requesting some more documents
15th June – Conveyancer instructed by Virgin Money
16th June – Second set of documents issued to the underwriter
16th June – Valuation instructed
21st June – Valuer contacted me to arrange appointment
30th June – Valuation took place
3rd July – Offer Issued
12th July – Remortgage complete
