Personal trainer courses?

Options
Hi guys after some advice here guys. This has always been an interest of mine but something I always put off due to the costs really.

I've studied with the OU in the past and because of my low income I got a course grant. Does such a thing exist with personal training courses?

Yes I think something called Advanced learner loan is what I'm after. Can these courses be done online or do they all require going to a workshop?

You have to have a gym instructor qualification before progressing to the level 3 PT. I would not recommend doing a PT course online. There is too much work involved and to do both your practical and your theory for your level 3 online would be a hard ask.

You cant be a PT without sitting a formal assessment, Im sure there are some companies that would let you submit your assessment online.

There are companies that will offer the level 3 course plus gym level 2 for just over £1000 which is a decent price.

  • Check out your local College.
The learner loan is for level 3 and above courses.
here's one from my local college
advise that all students should already hold the pre-requisite Level 2 Diploma in Fitness Instruction (Gym-Based Exercise) and should have achieved GCSE English at grade 4 or higher.
    The course provides:
    20 REPs CPD points
    Level 3 entry to REPs
    10 CIMSPA points

YMCA also do some great personal trainer courses
