Natwest mortgage application when overdrawn

Hi, looking for advice/ experiences please! I have a decision in principle with Natwest for a new build help to buy mortgage. Our full application is now with the underwriters and I'm just wondering how likely it is that the mortgage application will be granted. I'm self- employed and currently owed money which is late in being paid to me. As a result, I'm a couple of thousand pounds in my overdraft. Account conduct is otherwise good and no issues with affordability in general. Is it likely to be automatically declined by the underwriter due to being in overdraft? Also, just wondering approximately how long it is likely to take to get a decision (I bank with them, if that makes a difference). Thanks very much.

Unlikely to be declined due to the overdraft usage. It is an agreed credit facility after all. As long as it is all relative to your income there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

An overdraft is repayable on demand, but if they are happy to lend you £2K unsecured ; a secured mortgage should be relatively easier.
