Careers Advice Needed

My son has just finished a psychology degree at university and doesn't have much idea of what he wants to do.

Anyone used a careers service that they can recommend? Wondering about psychometric tests, etc. Or are they a waste? Obviously, I want him to be happy in his career.

He's started looking at joinery/carpentry recently and that might be the way forward. I'm not sure if it's not a kickback from all the studying, etc.

His university will have a careers service.

He is a grown up, he needs to be sorting this himself, and he really shouldn't have left it until now.

Thanks but really not helpful and really not what I asked for. For clarity do you know of a careers advice service or not?

National careers service?
Maybe he could take a look at graduate schemes? Some companies want graduates but don't worry to much what the degree is in. Does he want to work with people? Does he want office based work or to move into management? Or if studying has overloaded his brain could he take some time out? Travel or volunteer overseas? Might clear his mind and provide inspiration?
