Good Credit Rating, Low Debt, High Income, still can't get a good loan

Hello,

I have been having some trouble trying to get a loan with a decent apr, I have approx £2000 of credit card debt that is 0% interest currently and that's it. My credit score is excellent and I have an above average income in a professional job, but yet still I can't seem to access the low advertised rates. Is there something I may be missing here?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this is a very very common complaint and the gist is that your credit score is highly suspect / inaccurate at best.

It's only the credit agency view - and they are not lending you the money so they don't matter.

Nobody else sees your 'score' and any prospective creditor will always make their own judgement.

Have you tried the MSE eligibility checker?

I know it's frowned upon these days but if you have above average income, why don't you just save up?
