Oo love a bit of bank account farming. I have just started putting all my "free" money into a separate bank account so that I can track how much this makes me. I find it very motivating to see all these small amounts adding up x
Hi Busy Mee, I just pay any extras off the mortgage or put it into my offset pot, if I put it all in a separate account I wouldn't feel like it had a 'job' which is essential in Ynab. I've now sorted one account that I can use as my 'switching' account. But, I might do another one if I can find enough direct debits, this is the disadvantage of paying most of my bills annually, I don't have enough direct debits to go around.
Hmm things to contemplate.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Evening all, I'm feeling slightly more on an even keel tonight.
Today I did some grocery shopping £22.80 including 5 lots of 'just add hot water to the pot' porridges for my breakfasts while I'm away next week, 35p each is a lot cheaper than the hotel breakfasts where I'll be staying, I know it's all on expenses, but I do work for a charity so I am trying to be good.
Hubby arrived home from his latest job, he's been away nearly two weeks. I expected him to nap when Pickle did this afternoon, but, when he was still napping at 4pm I got a little cross. Fortunately (for him) he did take himself off to bed around 7pm as there is no way he is going to be 'recovering' tomorrow. Nope, Daddy duties need to resume immediately!
Sold an item on the boot sale app today, sadly it's not mine, we borrowed the item, friend said 'sell it for me when you are done with it' so I don't get to see the money. Sadly, she is not very good at repaying me when I pay for things for her, but I cannot not give her the money for this, it's not in my nature. I've already decided that, if I pay for something for her in the future, she has to PayPal me the money immediately. Maybe, when I give her the cash, she'll remember that she owes me some anyway - doubt it though.
1 day of the challenge done, tilly tidies made. Ynab up to date.
Let's see what tomorrow brings.
Wish.

A nsd - hooray. Pottered round the house this morning then a wander round a local town centre, just for a mooch, no spending for me. The boot sale app item was collected, so will put the money through my friend's door tomorrow. I should be sorting stuff out for going away tomorrow, but I think I'm just going to have an early night.
1 p challenge done & Tilly tidies made, about to clear the credit card which counts as another debit card transaction

Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

I've made it to the first stop on my road trip, and am staying with a friend tonight, we've had a lovely catch up and am now in bed. I 'shopped from Home' for a bottle of wine for us for this evening which is very mse and I'm 7 minutes away from my appointment in the morning. Life is good.
Today has been a nsd. Woop woop.
iPad is shut away at the moment so can't do my 1p a day challenge or any tilly tidies, but I will catch up tomorrow.
After my appointment tomorrow it's a long drive from the midlands to the south west , then hotels for the rest of the week.
I should be able to expense most things for the next week, so the question is, how many nsds can I have?
Wish.

Hello world... quick check in whilst having a solo breakfast...
I am exhausted, I've done 3 visits so far this week, another one today and again tomorrow, driven nearly 400miles already - which doesn't sound like a lot over 4 days, but is exhausting on top of the working day.
Keeping within the work food allowance is proving challenging to get reasonable food, so I have topped it up a bit. I also need to pack more snacks as I've done a bit of supermarket shopping if snacks. So, basically, my plan for a week of nsds (apart from expenses) has gone out of the window. Never mind!
I've had the confirmation that I'm going to be paid, tomorrow, for some freelance work I did in the autumn, I'd given up hope it was ever going to get paid, so it really is a bonus. For some reason, I've been taxed for it (something to do with it being because it was work in a school) but it's more money than I thought I was going to get and I'm putting the majority of it into the mop pot.
Budgets are looking incredibly squeaky at the moment (hubby doing lots of top up grocery shops at home - grrrr) but, we're away all weekend somewhere where we can't spend money. And then there is only next week and 1 weekend. Phew!
Have a lovely sunny day every one.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Well, wonders never cease. A nsd - just money spent on the Work credit card.
2 days of the 1p challenge done - and tilly tidies made.
Money from freelance work arrives in the morning, so I can make the mortgage overpayment for the month.
I've cashed £28 out of PA - need to do some surveys to build it up again. I'm going to see if I can make enough overpayments to colour another brick on the count down house in. I may get there, we'll see. I've also got my offset target to meet, so I need to be busy on some income generation next week.
Wish.

Well, 7nights and 700 miles later and I'm finally at home. A very long and, at times, stressful week. This weekend has been spent with our fabulous church family on a weekend away. It was great. And it's meant two nsds. I've got a lot to do this week so I'll explain the financial happenings as, after all, that's why we're here.
Fuel spends - as predicted I've had to wam my fuel budget but, unless I have to make a work trip this week (possible, but unlikely) I shouldn't need to fill up again.
Payment for freelance work: this cleared in my account on Friday. I filled my work expenses pot up, only need to keep it at around £50 now thanks to the credit card, but it immediately went into use for the fuel spends on Friday. The rest of the money went into the mop pot, meaning I've reached & exceeded this month's target. Woo hoo. There is already an additional £42 in the mop pot, £196 would colour in another brick on the countdown house and bring the mf date a month closer, game on for this week!
Cashed out £28 ish from PA, shrapnel in the mop pot, £25 into 'step 3, wage storage' on,y £300 to go to hit this month's target. (Should be covered by wages owed)
3 days of the 1p a day challenge done
Upcoming money in:
Sold a sling on the boot sale app, needs to be paid for & I'll need to post, should clear £20, much less than I'd hoped to get, but it's not a popular sling and 1 high street shop sells them at massively less than the rrp, but at least it will be being used.
Day of supply on Wednesday should be £120 a week on friday (will affect may's figures not April's sadly, but a good start.)
Email from the train company £30.30 refund coming my way. Woo hoo.
Wages & expenses will be paid on Friday.
Wish.

A very lazy day today, we haven't left the house. It does mean it's a nsd though.
New washing machine has arrived. A+++ so it may save us a few pennies on the electric bill. It's got a 14minute quick wash which, when used with an extra spit cycle (10mins) it's done a good job.
Work from home day tomorrow, Pickle back at the childminder's. Hopefully a nsd too, we'll see.
Need an early night as I'm still very tired from the weekend and last week.
2 days of the 1p challenge done and associated Tilly tidied made.
Debit card use target met, should get my £5 reward with this now. Will just use the credit card now to get the points.

Quickest wash on my machine is 59 minutes .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
