I would like to buy Gardasil 9 privately. Can I go to my GP to get a private prescription or is there a better way of doing it like going to a travel clinic? Is my GP likely to have it in stock there and then?

The simplest way is to contact a private GP service in your area. A search for "gardasil private" and your area will bring up results.

Your own GP may offer it privately but you'll need to book a private appointment for this (plus the cost of the prescription).

Gardasil 9 is a vaccine used in males and females from the age of nine years to protect against the following conditions caused by nine types of the human papillomavirus (HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58):

- precancerous lesions (growths) and cancers in the cervix, vulva or vagina and anus;
- genital warts.

Sounds like an extreme measure for something not very likely to happen.
