Gers - Who is your broadband with? I'm having trouble in my flat with Origin, shocking speeds and no fibre available.
BT - no fibre here as the line is EO and we're last on the long list for it. 2020 is the date bandied around. We don't have an outside cabinet so the line is connected with copper wire directly to the exchange five miles away.
It's such a PITA. Happily, my DM has just had Infinity installed so trips back to see her will be my techie updates too.0 -
Morning all,
Good news about my Grandaughter, she was seen last night by a pediatrician and the heart murmur is now undetectable. My Daughter, Son in Law and baby came home last night just after midnight. We'd spent a couple of hours with them at the hospital earlier in the evening whilst we were waiting for her to be seen.
Theres some pictures over here on my Facebook if you would like to see them.
Good news is that she has found her voice and knows what her bum is for! :rotfl:
Me, well i am hoping things are back to normal from today. Not complaining, its all or nothing for me and i could do with a rest. Might even be able to catch up on the programmes that ive missed.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good Morning all,Judi she is gorgeous, there is something about newborns that brings out the 'ahhh' in most of us May she live long and prosper.
Well some welcome rain last night by the bucket fill and the garden is greening up nicely again (free watering is just what was needed when you are on a meter:))
Today DD has to work and has Friday off instead so i shall be popping in to let the dogs out for a wee and a wander at lunchtime ,then I have a U3A meeting this afternoon then back to DDs for the boys after school.
We came second at Quiz night last night so thats another bottle of plonk to go into our stash we save them all up until we have enough for a share out and have 6 bottle now so only a few more to go:):)last nights supper was jacket spud and beans and grated cheese which filled me up beautifully and at £2.00 including the quiz was a very cheap night out I did buy a coffee though but at £1.20 it didn't break the bank.
One of the young lasses a t the next table to ours wasn't there as she too had given birth yesterday morning, 5 weeks early and Poppy Olivia came into the world at 4lb 11 ozs, her friend had brought in a picture of her and she too looks beautiful must be the month for new little ones to arrive.Their team name was 'All six plus one (for the expectant baby ) We are hoping she will bring the little one in to see us all.Its such a friendly pub and the quiz night is very sociable, and everyone is made welcome .
I have to nip to the shop to buy my eldest DDs husband a card and an Amazon token as its his birthday tomorrow .He prefers to get his Amazon vouchers as he can then use them for what he wants and everyone buys him those.
Apart from that its a normal mid-week day and we are almost halfway through the month almost already. 37 days until our holiday (not that I'm counting of course:):)) looking forward to seeing what this years holiday house is like it looks jolly good on the reviews and the photo's look nice the boys are enjoying the thought of the barn conversion games room complete with all sorts of indoor and outdoor games and the garden looks more than big enough for the two dogs.
right time to get a wriggle on
Have a great day chums and if you watched it wasn't the Konta game a nail biter yesterday, really enjoying Wimbledon this year
Take care everyone

Morning.....((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Lovely pictures Judi, so pleased everything is ok with the baby, wise to get her checked out though.
Late up this morning, I was awake at 4am, must have gone back to sleep sometime after 7am. OH was late waking up so it was after 9am.
After yesterdays rain, it is a lot cooler, I have towels in the washer, fingers crossed I get them dry. OH is out, he is clearing out the sentry box to paint the back before we move it to its new home in preparations for the new shed.
I spent quite a bit of yesterday sewing. The fabric is chenille which sheds like crazy, I have enough fabric left to make a smaller bag, will be glad to see the back of it. I plan to start going through the two bags I was given and see what else can be used from there.
Ham salad for supper tonight, the rapsberries have about finished, the autumn ones do not seem to be doing very well, so doubt we will get a harvest from them. Rhubarb is still going well. Will not be pulling any after the end of this month.0 -
Good morning everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.
Lovely photos Judi, glad the wee one is ok.
It's a beautiful sunny morning so hoping to spend much of the day outside. My younger son is coming home for a couple of days and it will be nice to have his company. I think we'll either bbq or get fish and chips tonight.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Morning all, it's a bright, breezy but fresher day here.
Judi that will be one spoilt little girl, she's gorgeous.
Lamewolf nice to "see" you
WM is on and all the house bins emptied, washed and outside drying. DW emptied and refilled awaiting it's button to be pressed. It will have to wait while I have a coffee.
I shall have to hoover the kitchen too as I decided to throw the first lot of washing powder all over the floor.
This afternoon we have tickets to see DGS leavers concert, can't believe that he will be in Juniors come September. Then bringing both DGC back for tea, Dad and DD are also coming . Tea will be a pick and mix, Tacos, Fajitas, potato wedges, honey sausages, salad and crisps. Looking forward to that.
Hugs to all and enjoy the rest of the day.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
We have a name... Alice. Alice Evlyn. Evlyn is going to take some getting used to. I have a horrible aunty Evelyn. Glad they are spelling it and pronouncing it differently.
Just noticed the date. It's my brother's birthday. Shame he doesn't like me.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon - I've done my visit to the next village which took twice as long as I was caught behind three closing / opening canal bridges. Just as well the weather was nice as I got out each time to watch. At the final one (in the other village) then told me of a way round that bridge. :j
I've collected my 'reward' - it's a nice limited print - 77 / 100 - of a very local-to-me neolithic site. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, could become a Christmas gift.
Broadband still very dodgy so BT are sending out an engineer on Monday.
Postie brought me a second-hand book from Ama*on and £7.00 of Wait*ose vouchers for 'summer and beauty' goods I have no need or wish for. Wish they wouldn't bother!
I'm still waiting for an email with the revised student's submissions but got one from the uni offering me an interview for another role. When the advert for it came out I deleted the email and then the course leader wrote to me to say she'd be delighted to receive an application from me for the role! Hard to refuse, even if I had to ask for the original email to be sent as it had the JD and application form attached. :rotfl:
That's my day so far. I've finished off the eternal chicken thighs, there's still rubber chocolate cake left. If it's not stale by the time I get back home on Saturday I'll have some more. Can't be giving the birds sugary stuff!
Sun is still out so I'm hoping to get the grass cut a little later, it'll still be damp and I'll probably be churning it up a bit, but it so needs it.0 -
I'm back and what sweet photos judi, isn't she adorable! I'm so glad to hear that the murmur us undetectable, they do quite often resolve all by themselves.
I'm off tomorrow, was going to have Monday off but tomorrow works better for me in relation to what I've got going on in the forthcoming weeks.
It is stuffy here, OH AND DS seem to rush round shutting windows the moment I disappear, now they are open again. House smelt damp when I came in yesterday.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good Afternoon, late post today as this morning I went clothes shopping in the city for some travel clothes to take on holiday this summer and popped home for a quick lunch and out again to walk Cookie dog. Her mum and dad have treated He Who Knows and I to some tickets to a T20 cricket match later this month with a coach from their pub going and coming back, apparently Cookie saved up all her pocket money to say thank you for taking her walkies every day, so sweet!!!
Clothes shopping was much more of a success than I'd anticipated as in desperation, not being able to find what I wanted in the sales in the size I was looking for I grabbed a smaller size swimsuit off the rack and tried it on.....perfect fit! Picking jaw up off the ground I tried on trousers and a jacket in size 12 and both fitted perfectly, I am a very happy bunny!!! I even inadvertently picked up a personal shopper (makes you feel like royalty!) when I was looking for the dressing rooms and ended up in a corner of the store where a lovely lady said you can use the ones in the bridal area, they're free and then said she'd help me with what I needed as she was one of the stores personal shopper, wow she was lovely.
We've booked a table at Cookie dogs pub for supper this evening with my brother and his wife which is also going to be lovely, and the rain has stopped! can't be bad can it? xxx.0
