How much time does it take to process a remortgage?

I am looking to remortgage for first time. If I make a remortgage application today, how long does it take to finalise and complete in reality based on your experience? I understand it will be quicker than buying for first time but just want to get a sense of time (weeks, months)?

Assuming you are referring to switching lenders entirely, anywhere between 3-8 weeks, depending on who you are going with.

I have just remortgaged and it has taken 9 weeks. Leasehold flat and I was on holiday which delayed it.

Was wondering the same thing. Currently with Halifax and our fix is up in March next year.

Thinking of starting the process after Christmas, hopefully that should be long enough!

If you are keeping the same term and borrowing don't forget to see what options your existing lender can provide, I just switched mine to a new rate online, took two minutes.
