Mortgage after living abroad

I have been living abroad for a number of years and Want to apply for a mortgage.

I have enough money for a deposit, just no job. Will this be an issue?

Also will they request my overseas bank statements?

I can provide tax returns I'm just not willing to give bank statements as they are quite messy.

Unfortunately it will. Times have changed since you left. You need to reestablish yourself first. Before thinking about applying for a mortgage.

No provable income - no mortgage.

How exactly were you planning to service the mortgage without a job, unless you have a private income?
No lender is interested in what you used to earn, here or abroad. What they want to know is how you plan on making the repayments for the next 25 years or so.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I want to rent the house out and live somewhere else.... or I have savings... or I will eventually get a job.
