How do I sort out CCJ's?

 Hi Guys,
I had run up about £3000 debt on 2 store cards (from GE Capital) ) around 4 years ago. Being young and naieve I burried my head in the sand a !!!!!!ed off to France to live for 3 months and came back to see a huge pile of post and a CCJ!
I went through everything with my dad who is pretty hot on these sorts of things and their rules and we discovered I had not actually been 18 at the time I took them out so therefore by law I shouldn't have to pay them back (and the fact that they can get in ALOT of trouble!).
We asked repeatedly for a copy of the contract I signed when the store cards were taken out and even when I was assured it would be sent- it never arrived. They mysteriously never had a record of us calling asking and it went on for months. They then offered to not approach me again (and probably blacklisted me) and they told me I did not have to pay them back what I owed (result) but they never mentioned what happens with this CCJ? I am now stuck with this CCJ and its ruining my life!
I have, in the last week applied to the 3 credit agencies for my history through using the template letter on here and am waiting for a reply from them, but I would really love to know what to do to sort this mess out- I dont want to use a so called 'credit improver' to have them change my credit profile as I want to do it myself. Please, please, please can someone tell me what I need to do. I cannot get ANY kind of credit through ANYONE and I dont think its very fair as I have no debts at all and earn a reasonable salary- I know people who earn nothing and never pay back but they still get offered credit! Argh!
Any responses would be greatfully recieved.
Fankoo!
