Frozen fruit

Frozen fruit has really gone up a hell of a lot, not long ago I always bought the Tesco value 90p for 500g.
Then similar mixed frozen fruit in Sainsbury's and the other supermarkets were about £1.50-£1.80 per kilo.
Now I struggle to find any under £2 per kilo. The value ranges are all over £2kg even as high as £2.99kg
I even see some frozen fruit about £4 per kilo, £4 a kilo are you serious.
Where has all this inflation come from?
Can anybody find the cheapest frozen fruit in the UK, no matter what it is or how much I need to buy?
Are there any companies that deal with frozen fruit that can still offer under £2 per kilo?

Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future

Had a flyer through the door yesterday and binned it but do remember Farmfoods have some kind of special on frozen fruit just now.0

The inflation has probably come from two sources:
- changes in the exchange rate between the Euro and the £.
- because many websites/food bloggers have been telling people "it's good/OK to use frozen fruit", so there's a bigger demand.0 -

Larger demand should bring larger supply.
Because fruit are infinite and cheap to produce in quantity, these big greenhouses in Spain and other places full of cheap labour can produce thanks of tons every day.
The pound sterling has gone up lately so we should see cheaper prices for these frozen fruits?Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -

Because the growers can't find the people to pick for them so it needs to be imported. In years gone by, students would earn money by working in the fields. They don't want to do that work these days.0

I blame all these smoothie drinkers! Pushing up the price of frozen berries, because they're Superfoods now, you know!
