futon cushion/mattress?

i am looking for a new double cushion/mattress for futon/bed .
any ideas on where best place is to get one?

Not the cheapest, but certainly the best selection, try the futon company (online & high street shops)

They sell futons in various thicknesses and colours, and you can buy spare machine washable covers.

They usually have a sale on too

I would not recommend The Futon Company to anyone after my recent experience. I spent nearly £1000 with them using their online site to buy a table and a bifold sofa. The sofa was delivered with key bolts missing - (of course you only find that out when you unpack all the bits for assembly).

They don't have a customer service number. When I tried to phone I kept being diverted to my nearest (Bristol) branch and some poor woman who was trying to cope with an understaffed shop. She kept saying it was nothing to do with her because I had bought it off the Futon Company internet site but did eventually get through to "someone in London". Unfortunately she didn't have the bolts I needed in her shop so I was at the mercy of the elusive headquarters.

It took two days for me to sort out the mess and get the parts I needed. It also cost a small fortune in follow-up phonecalls, decommissioned our sitting room for a day and a half - which my husband uses for music teaching - and, taking Martin's advice, I complained about the experience and asked for some recompense as an acknowledgement that their incompetence had inconvenienced me.

In the end all I got was an email from the head of the Futon Company who blamed the error on their Chinese distributors and has since ignored all my other emails. So I was effectively left high and dry by the Futon Company. I would definitely not use them again - certainly not their online site. The bifold sofa is fine but their customer service is appalling. Shame really - as I was expecting them to be good. But this is the worst online shopping experience I've had.
