Virgin Train cancellation

Options
I was booked on a virgin train, it was cancelled, reinstated and then cancelled again whilst we sat on it waiting to depart.

It was announced that 25 minutes after the due departure that the service was cancelled.

The next train was an hour later which we caught, Virgin are telling me that as we caught the next service under their T & C's it's only classed as a delay and not a cancellation.

My question is should I be getting a full refund of that particular leg or only a partial refund due to them classing it as a delay.

If, when you saw your train had been cancelled, you then decided not to travel, then you would be entitled to a cancellation refund.

As you travelled, and arrived at your destination later than planned, your journey was delayed.

You mention "that particular leg" which seems to imply that there were more than one train involved.

If your arrival at your ultimate destination was later than planned, then it is that arrival time that determines whether of not you are entitled to any compensation.

The advise given above is not correct.

For 'any delay', which is over 30 mins, then you are entitled to a delay compensation. Please see below.

Excuse me... please be kind enough to explain what exactly is wrong with my post.

I certainly am not saying you are mistaken, but perhaps we can all benefit from your knowledge.
