Ok this is my first report of a online misjudgement of pricing. I was looking for the Royle Family (BBC TV SERIES) so i was looking for the boxset and everywhere was selling it between 30 and 40 quid. But on play.com £14.49 and i printed out the pages to prove just incase there is any come backs. They put the dvd cover of the first series on it but in the description of the dvd it is the same as the box set at £37 so am not letting this go. I will fight till i prove i was right.

It's not Play that is selling the dvd for £14.49, it's a trader but they seem to have good feedback.0

No one has to honour any advertised price. It's only an "invitation to treat" (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/the_economy/441740.stm). That said, you might be lucky.

Hi
As henryb says they are not liable to sell the item at that price, because it is an "invitation to treat" in law, which means they are inviting you to pay that price. However if they have taken your money they have formed a contract with you,and you therefore have some redress in law. So I hope you paid them,if you did'nt you may as well forget it.0 -

Not necessarily, it depends on the terms and conditions of the particular contract. In some cases the contract is not formed until the item is despatched.
There is nothing to say that this is a misprice? Maybe the seller has just got a dodgy batch he is trying to get rid of?!Gone ... or have I?0 -
£17.95 today :rolleyes:0

Still only £3.46 higher. I don't think that the original price was an error, probably just that the retailer had excess stock, so used it as a loss leader (or maybe even made a profit at £14.49!).Gone ... or have I?0
