Algae in pond
Comments

Sorry but I can not answer your question but just wanted to say that yes I agree the algae is really bad this year in our pond too.
Over the years we have tried those micro jelly bomb things that are meant to help with the algae but we never found that they worked. We also have tried those Barley Bales but didn't have any luck with them. And finally we have also tried Water Cress in a small cage in the corner of the pond but that didn't help either.
I would also be interested to hear from anyone who has any ideas/suggestions that will help please.

I always have a lot of success with a bio filter, but plenty of plants will help. I've never had an algae bloom with an established biofilter.0

I have a filter box with foam filters is this a bio filter0

A biolfilter is basically a large container with material that provides a large surface area; you don't need to clean them out, the bacteria and critters that take hold will devour alage and waste products. The bigger the better.
If it's a box with foam that you have to unblock by scraping out the algae - that's a standard filter normally seen in all-in-one pump/filters.0 -
Look up using pure sodium percarbonate in the garden There is quite alot of info on the net about using in fish ponds. Might be worth doing some research first but Fish farms use it to control algae.0
