Allowances and Mortgages?

Hi,
I'm attempting to become a first time buyer and will be looking to buy a flat and rent out a room to help cover the mortgage.

I'm currently overseas with work and will be here for a year. During my year I receive a number of allowances on top of my base salary which in total are larger than my current salary. I'm looking to secure a mortgage that takes these into consideration - I'm paid in sterling and have the same tax deductions made so it looks like I currently reside in the UK.

I spoke to one lender and they requested a summary from work of the benefits received and a copy of my contract. All the benefits I receive are non-contractual and the summary would say that I'm abroad.

What is the best way around this? Are certain lenders more lenient or can anyone recommend a broker?

Thanks in advance!

So you want to commit fraud? Yeah I'm sure there are loads of lenders and brokers open to help you with that!

Lying on your application form to obtain a mortgage isn't advisable. Would you trust a broker to look after your best interests if they are willing to aid and abet you commit fraud? For the amount they'd earn in commission would you expect someone to put their professional status on the line?
