Well nothing is moving with the house, I wouldn't mind if we were kept in the loop but just get fobbed off by the EA and vendor solicitor, so have decided to add some pressure and give them a week to get things in motion, I would feel more confident if they would actually book the charter surveyor even if the date is weeks away. Four weeks is more than enough time to make the decision, I don't think even a cash buyer would be interested with the titles in such a mess.
It doesn't help that a property we considered before we offered on this house has come back on the market it's world's apart from the house we offered on, a complete refurbishment required but has the land we would love, I decided it was too much work and I'm past the point in my life that I want to live in a building site ( been there and have the T shirt) but will freely admit to the husband it would make a lovely home once the work has been done, but think I would end up resenting the place if I had to do the work. He doesn't understand this, probably because I'm tidier than him and can't relax if the place is a mess.
A positive to come out of this is our current rent is near enough the same as our mortgage would be and I'm managing to save what would be our hopeful overpayment each month as well as doing the work to get this place ready for re_ rental when the time comes, so it's perfectly doable in a new house if we keep to 150k budget. I have the carpet fitters in on Monday so that's the last expense on this house and I can start saving for remedial work needed on a new property.0
