Unused holiday pay at end of employment

I recently finished at my previous employer, and had a substantial amount of unused annual leave. I was expecting to be paid for my unused leave in my final pay, but I was not. I've contacted the employer about this and am awaiting a response. I anticipate them saying I am not entitled to have my annual leave paid out, so…

Certainly the statutory part. There may well be "discretionary" terms and conditions regarding the seven additional days.
