Re-Heating jacket potatoes

Jacket potatoes.

I cooked some yesterday and need to re-heat them tonight for tea to have with the yummy gammon.

i cant see it being a problem Calley, i've done it before but the only thing i don't like about it is that i like my spuds nice and crispy and they always seem to be a bit squishy.!

I'm sure some of the experts on here would be able to tell you how to get arond that.

    Enjoy your spuds :D

They are not crispy on the outside as I boiled them for 10 mins before putting in the oven in foil.

I thought that I could just pop them back in the oven for 15/20 mins as we don't have a microwave. Just wanted to see how other people would do it.

I can't wait to see the answers to this query as I have never successfully been able to reheat baked spuds I have ended up 'peeling' the outer skin off, slicing thinly and frying. Good luck

I'd slice & saute in butter, adding fresh sea salt and chopped parsley at the end :)

I often "batch bake" jacket potatoes LOL But, I've learned only to make enough to reheat one batch .. I've tried baking 3 days worth but by day 3's reheating, they simply were not nice enough!

Reheat in a preheated oven for 15- 20 mins.

Sometimes, I mash the flesh, add whichever "topping/flavouring" we're having, refill the skins; pop in the oven Gas 6 for about 20 - 30 mins (the slightly longer time, depending on the choice of filling!)

The skins never "crips" up quite the same when reheated - I was told years ago to rub them with a little oil and salt before reheating .. tried it once, failed miserably and didn't bother again LOL
(I'm much more successful at reheating and getting crispy roast potatoes!)

Go for it Calley and enjoy it with your gammon. :D

I reheat them in a microwave with a piece of cheese on top. The cheese melts yummily!

I don't think I've ever tasted gammon. They are a cut of meat from a pig aren't they? HOw can you have them on top of a spud

Gammon is like bacon but you have bigger and thicker slices. I did not have it on top of my spud I had it with my spud. As I made a salad and had gammon and jacket spud instead of boiled spuds.

    Sorry to confuse.

I too batch bake jacket spuds & re-heat, I think the trick to getting them crispy again is to re-heat slowly on a low heat & not to wrap them in foil (I never bother anyway)HTH;)
