I originally purchased the JA Oasis Beach Tower Hotel apartment for 7 nights at £2931. A few days later I noticed that the apartment was £60 cheaper so rang them and requested the difference back. They said they could only offer credit and i said its not acceptable etc.so they refunded the £60 back onto my card.

Ive now noticed a further £183 difference and when i rang them they said they can only give credit which is valid for a year. They are not willing to give a refund onto my card.
Is there a way to get the money back?

Thanks
Sharon

Do they have a price guarantee and if so what are the terms and conditions? Is it a cancellable booking, in which case cancel and rebook at the lower price.

Prices do change according to availability so unless they've specifically said they'll match other prices, you're lucky to have got anything at all.

    Hey

Thanks for the reply. I booked a non-refundab,le room and the t&c says:
Request a Hotels.com coupon for the price difference if your booking is non-refundable
Request a refund for the price difference if your booking is refundable and you have found the cheaper price on another website

The way i see it is that if they refunded the £60, they should refund the £183 too. I could do with the money otherwise i will have to pay everyone from my own pocket. On top of that i rarely go away (even in the UK) so the 1 year valid voucher is kind of a waste.

Then it looks as if they've met their terms and conditions by offering you the voucher.
The first time was a gesture of goodwill which they're not obliged to repeat.
It's not really any different to booking a flight and then the price going down. You pay what you think is reasonable at the time. If it then changes so be it - you wouldn't expect to be charged the extra if the price went up would you?

Err..... Britain pulled out of Dubai in 1968. If you expect it to still be British now, you may be in for a bit of a nasty surprise!
