This is what I did - What do you think?

Ok so this was the situation:

Morgan Stanley £5236 (19% APR)
Bank of Scot 1 £3600 (15% APR)
Bank of Scot 2 £3670 (17% APR)
Virgin £3456 (23% APR)
MBNA £487 (22% APR)
Barclaycard £2040 (20% APR)
HSBC £846 (24% APR)

HSBC Overdraft £1600 (14% APR)
Barclays Overdraft £800 (14% APR)

Egg Loan £17000 (£24000 final settlement figure at present) (7.6% APR)
AMEX Corp Bill £5200

I Therefore did the following: Got a loan with A+L for £15k. (6.3% APR)

Paid off Amex and all credit cards except MS,BOS 1+2 and left £1k on my Barclaycard.

I stopped my PPI on my Egg Loan and got £4236 knocked off the final figure.

I cleared the HSBC O/D and will pursue them for Bank Charges.

I am also going to pursue all credit cards that have been cleared.

Questions:
  • I have a shocking credit rating and most of the cards that I have paid off are happy to have got rid of me. Does anyone know of a good card that I can transfer some balances for a cheap rate?
  • I want to pursue AMEX for some corporate card charges – are these charges legal etc??
  • I have dedicated £1750 per month to go to my debts. I have to pay as a minium £1250 to all remaining debts. (MS,BOS 1+2, Bcard and the two loans aswell as o/d at Barclays.) So I have £500 spare to go to debts. Does anyone have a suggestion on what is the best course of action to use this £500? - Which debts? Tips etc?

take a look at www.whatsthecost.com select snowballing then enter all of your debts in including apr's etc, the website will then calculate in which order you should prioritise your debts, it will also give you a debt free date.

    It's a fab tool!

Sorry can't help with reclaiming corporate charges perhaps you could post that as a separate query on the reclaiming baord?

The lawfulness of these charges is exactly the same. Fire off a standard letter requesting repayment.
