Paying loan

Hi, I can make a full settlement of my loan with a £70 early settlement figure, but was wondering if I pay most of it with an overpayment and leave them to collect say £200 would I avoid the early settlement figure.
I did speak to the bank and they said they'd collect anything left if it was under the DD amount and clear the loan.

Not sure what a steelemeny is, but yes, you could pay off the bulk of it and leave the DD to take the remainder.0 -
Hi Jason,
You will need to check the terms and conditions of the agreement to see exactly what will incur a penalty. If you can overpay monthly with no penalty and are confident that you won't use the savings for anything else, that may help save you the £70 fee.
However, I would consider how worth while this all is over a £70 fee. I hope you get it all sorted.

Thanks all, amended my post. I called them and checked, they didn't mention the early settlement figure. So I'll go with it. If I do pay it it's not an issue, but you can always try 0
