I am trying to complete my on-line self assessment for 2016-2017.
Can anyone tell me where deductible professional fees (institute membership) are entered? I know my fees are allowed, and have had them included for many years, but this year I cannot find the right box to enter the numbers.

I presume that you are employed. You need to say 'Yes' to the question - 'Do you have any expenses incurred in your employment?'. When you have done that, a new box will appear where you enter your prof subs.0

Are you sure your tax code hasn't already been amended to take the fees into account? That's what used to happen to mine when I was a member of a professional body.0

I ask the same questions as 'wanman' asked 12 months ago

Why the same question again? Because those wonderfully helpful people at HMRC have changed the form again, as they do every singe year ...….
Been through it half a dozen times and I just cannot find the appropriate place.
Thanks in advance0 -
Professional fees/subscriptions are linked to a specific employment so are part of the "employment" page.
Near the end.
Been like that since 1996:97
