We are Christians and the bible says about giving back 10% of your income to the church which we do ..... I believe in it and practice this.
It is not so much the bible but the church which asks for another 10% out of already taxed income.
Had you thought about the morality of prolonging debt you owe to others and the impact it is having on you and your family? You are effectively giving away cash that doesn't actually belong to you.
I think it would be more ethical to use the tithe money (and make it up to £300 a month) to repay your debts.
When you have paid off what you owe you can go back to tithing.0
