Am off to Italy later today for a few days.
Lots of rain forecast later at Heathrow, so I hope it doesn't delay the flight.
Luckily the weather in Italy has calmed down from the high 30s to a respectable mid-20s, so shouldn't be uncomfortable unless it's very humid.
Depends whereabouts you're going - it was absolutely throwing it down at Monza yesterday.0 -
James was once supposed to be my navigator on a trip back from Rye House speedway. We set off, James with map book on his lap and come to the first turning (on a one way system so we couldn't just retrace our steps), I ask which turning to take and no answer....he had fallen deeply asleep and no amount of shouting, prodding etc would wake him up.
I just went with my gut and took what felt right, luckily a few miles down the road and I found a sign for where we eventually needed to be to get back onto the road we wanted. Best thing of all was that if we had taken the correct route we would have been stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident but my going by gut route had completely bypassed it.
James woke up when we pulled up outside our house....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Hope you have a lovely time.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
This is currently on sale at Amazon for £6. I bought three at 6p each, in a fit of MSE enthusiasm. Any suggestions for what to do with them? They are covers for a Samsung S8 phone, which I don't own, and even if I did I would not put one of these on it. If I give them to the charity shop, will they just bin them?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Although I'll be up in the mountains so there might be a microclimate which can go either way!James was once supposed to be my navigator on a trip back from Rye House speedway. Don't you just love 'em! :rotfl:
GDB, I know they were cheap, but it does beg the question of why!
 Just had a thought....... hope you didn't have to pay postage!
I'm sure a charity shop wouldn't bin them, at least not until they'd tried to sell them.
I suppose if you're into eBay, you could sell them for £2 or£3 and still make a little profit?
Or your local Gumtree?(I just lurve spiders!)

That was 6p each including delivery. Three separate orders, but amazon combined them into a single delivery.
The trouble is that this phone has only just gone on sale, so not that many of them around. And if you had just spent quite a few hundred on one, would you really stick this cheap tat on it?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Actually, yes!
If my phone was worth a few hundred pounds, I'd want to disguise it as a cheap phone! :rotfl:

I too use Waze. in America roaming data is hugely expensive, so before leaving, use my WiFi at home before setting out, put in both the departure and destination points, and then drive there using my phone's inbuilt GPS which doesn't incur data charges. Then the other end, find a WiFi hotspot, plug in the reverse and head back.
May be worth a shot nearer home to see if you can get it to work. Waze is fab, though very battery intensive.
We have done that abroad. The downside is that you don't get the latest traffic news, which is the key point of waze!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
