I can't remember to be honest but surely there has to be an agreement made before anything can go ahead anyway?0

Seriously - you can't remember whether you gave your bank details to a number of unknown companies and whether you entered into agreements with them (which could have been as simple as ticking a box to agree to their T&C's)
I'd be watching my account like a hawk over the coming days and I'd me more concerned about money going out than coming in - if all this has cost you is £6 and an unknown interest rate you've got off lightly0 -
There will be an agreement that you signed somewhere.0

Sorry I didn't realise this site was used to belittle people. No I don't remember because I have some issues of mine own and irrationally tried to get some money together for an emergency! I remember giving my details over to perform credit checks that is all.0

It's not the fault of members of this forum that you have done something stupid, even if it was because you have 'issues'.
I suggest you transfer the money into a completely separate account so that you have control over it. As it stands, if you don't know who you gave your bank details to, then you also don't know if you've signed a direct debit or any other financial document that could drain your account.
If you are unable to find out who the money came from, then you will have to sit and wait for them to contact you - which they will for a little matter of just under £3k."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Although it could be an amazing coincidence, it could be an error from someone who has entering your bank details by mistake, when doing a transfer.
It's not unknown to happen, seen it mentioned a few times on here and my mate years ago had money put into his account. He alerted the bank and they got back to the sender.
Possibly the reference could stand for family expenses transfer.
I'd definitely put it aside for now and wait and see.0 -
I'm aware of that but not once did I ask for the opioins of others on the mistakes I made whilst having an episode involved in my 'issues'. I have merely asked for advise from people who may know how to track down who put it in there.
Thanks for your ADVICE on moving the money I have already done that. Hopefully they will be in touch for their money!0 -
Thank you, I have put it aside and notified the bank. I hope you're right!0

Be careful this stinks of a scam. I wouldn't be surprised if you are contacted shortly by someone claiming they transferred an amount in you in error and could you return it by bank transfer. After which the first payment is refunded due fraud. Leaving you £3k out of pocket.0
