someone has told me that phillips make another tv and sell it under another name but loads cheaper. Has anyone else heard this and do you know which make it is?

It's perfectly possible that they sell the screens to another manufacturer, but the screen is only half the story. The electronics that make the picture make a very big difference and so the picture quality could be very different to that of a Phillips telly. A bit like a canvass in Picasso's hands looks a lot better than in mine if you see what I mean.
I've no idea who phillips supply though. Sorry.
