I got my payout from Pr0lific today, £13 of which went on OP.

As our monthly payment came out today I decided to do a knotty OP and added £2.42 to the £13 to get the mortgage down to £94,690.00. I really like the 00 at the end :D

I also got a nice surprise in the post yesterday as I came second in a charity lottery so I have a cheque for £27.30 to put in the bank. And of course once it clears some of that will be making an OP!

    Excellent - double whammy

I did notice that by doing a knotty o/p along with your o/p, it brought you into the 600's.

Works a treat, as well, if you have a sub account on your mortgage, where I just bounce between one and the other :rotfl: a few times during the month. Satisfies my obsession :o:D
    Loving this.
Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's

  • Reporting for August with an OP of £823.81!

Which means I've been able to colour in the first 'brick' in my OP house! If all goes well I should be colouring in bricks every 2 months.

I also made a knotty OP to bring my outstanding mortgage to £93,480.

And thanks to Shangaijimmy I've started on MB which, if all goes well, might bring in a little bit extra to OP each month.

  • It's all looking good! I need to revisit MB....I made a very good amount when I did it many years ago. I need to investigate what's around now and get back into the swing of things. May add this to my October tasks. (September is already looking full for me!!).
  • Thanks!

I'm not sure how much I'll make but any thing that goes towards the OP is welcome!!

A Fantastic o/p for the month. Well done :T

And so pleased to see you doing a knotty Op as well :D

  • A very overdue report!

In September, October and November we made a total OP of £3177.14! An amazing amount and it means I am well within my aim of paying off £5k by the end of the year :)

I also have to sing the praises of YNAB. If anyone is looking into a budget app I'd highly recommend it. Just through budgeting the YNAB way and always having my budget at my finger tips I have saved about £1400 since July. I don't feel like I've been especially frugal, just more thoughtful on where I am spending my money.

I think I'm going to keep this as savings rather than using it to OP.

Thats great progress, well done. I'm so pleased you've done so well with YNAB. It's always good to hear of others that have found it useful. I love sitting playing with it seeing what I can save and change. I wish hubby would check balances before spending but it keeps us on track better than if we didn't have anything.
  • End of 2017 Update!

We managed to OP £4816.35 since July, which is amazing and along with our regular payment brings our mortgage down to £89,080. Wooo!

I've set an ambitious target of OP £10k for 2018. I think it is doable but I might have to up my MB and Ebaying to make sure I reach it.

    Happy New Year to everyone!
