Onlooker is obviously someone who doesn't read instructions well.

He's not read the constant popups, warnings and emails to ensure your email registered with MSE was correct before the forum was migrated. In exactly the same way he didn't read the paperwork that he signed about his Lifetime Mortgage.

Regarding the part of multiple adverts and cartoons each one proposes that monies should be gifted to your close family to help them financially ,maybe a deposit on a home.Good thoughts but be aware that if you should have to go into care those monies can be claimed back by local authorities under the claim that you have diminished the value of your estate.Consider

Do the providers of Equity Release/Lifetime mortgages expect house owners to believe that they have anything other than large profit making  with cartoon adverts then employing a millionheiress to denegrate the sound alternative of Downsizing by parading down the streets cutting down for sale signs with a mechanical saw.Consider

It seems the OP is now resorting to creating multiple accounts to spam this board with the same old nonsense. Surely this is the kind of forum behaviour we need the mods to ‘consider’
And yet they consider G_M more nonsense and banned him..... sigh...

The Bank of England has reduced its base rate to borrowers to 0.1%,its lowest for 325 years. This will mean that bank loans re,mortgages,re-mortgages will all reduce accordingly.5,8years loans are freely available everywhere at less than 3% ,a good alternative to getting tied down to a mortgage for your lifetime just yet.Keep in mind downsizing as a cheaper option despite the industrys opinion of them as a cheaper option in the long term.Consider

Lenders have infact been increasing their rates, especially on fixed term deals due to the uncertainty and recession, hence higher risk to lend

Regarding the fact that the treasury has billions to lend to their chief borrowers does this also mean that anyone taking out equity release will find interest rates rising on their mortgages for life offers. .Leave well alone .Consider
