Uber in Bristol

I am planning on taking a cab to the airport. Even using airport cabs only works ot just over a tenner more than parking. As I'm booked on business class I have a feeling I may have one or two drinks on the way back, so don't want to risk driving.
According to my personal input it appears Uber is even cheaper, but I know next to nothing about them. Are they reliable, obviously the outward journey is time sensitive, how far in advance can you book them, and if there is none in my area at the time I want to go could it be a problem. Can somebody guide me in this endeavour. Cheers

Uber are great if you're in an area that's saturated with Uber cars and need a taxi immediately (within the next 10 mins). You can see exactly where your car is and there's no faffing around with cash.
But you can't book them in advance.
There is a function which allows you to schedule an Uber, but as far as I know, all it does is automatically request a car to arrive within your pre-selected 15 minute window. If none are available at that time, you don't get one.
I use Uber and I know that where I live I could request one any time of the day or night and it would be here within minutes, so I wouldn't worry about relying on one to get me to the airport. But I've no idea what coverage is like where you live.0
