IFA Pension advice

Hi I have a small pension fund with Aviva which is a defined benefits scheme. If I stay with them I will only get an annual pension of around £870. . I am thinking about transferring it to a scheme where I can take out lump sums so got a transfer value of £39,000.They say I have to get a letter from an IFA before I can…

The Govt and the regulator have argued at each other a number of times on various subjects and select committee hearings. It has flatly refused things at times and got away with it. The Govt could decide to change its powers but it tends to leave the regulator to get on with it.

The regulator is set up by Govt but the regulator is in control of most of its rules and guidelines without any Govt intervention.
