Today I have paid off my mortgage Early in June I gave a £3000 overpayment and then on 12th June I paid my direct debit. Today i phoned Nationwide and paid off the remainder. They will be sending me some paperwork. I began my mortgage in 2010 and began overpaying in 2013. I had a fixed mortgage so had to pay fees I feel over the moon happy.

I didn't overpay mortgage last year, but carried on wanging it all into a stocks and shares ISA. My investments rose in value, while the mortgage stayed the same. So overpaying would have been much worse for me.
But there are many ways to skin a rabbit, and I'm happy for you feeling good about what you have done.0
