P45

Hi I have been sent a P45 for a job I am leaving, I start my new job on the 3rd of July and my official leaving date here is the 30th of June so I still have two weeks to run at this employer...

I am paid monthly every 15th in arrears, is it correct they have sent me a p45 considering I still have two weeks left to work? Will I get paid for the two weeks I have left to work? I don't owe nor have any holidays to take either.

Are you sure you are paid in arrears? Usually a mid month pay day is you are paid in arrears for the first two weeks of the month and in advance for the last two weeks so you should have received a full months pay on the 15th but that is you paid up to 30th. If you have your P45 that usually means no more wages to come.

Thanks comeandgo, all cleared up this morning by my employer. I am indeed paid 2 weeks in arrears and 2 weeks in advance. This was my first job paid this as I have always been paid hourly.

My next employer pays exactly the same on every 15th so I guess I will recieve the new full monthly wage there too as I start on the 3rd Jul. Easier now to plan my outgoings!
