I'm trying to look around at new mortgage (slightly too early for me, but just looking) and I understand all the true cost ideas and stuff and that it's not just about the interest rate, but does moneysupermarket.com give all the "hidden extras" that are going to be there?
For example, I was comparing Britannia 5.39% 5yr fixed (fees £999 arrangement and £200 valuation) with my present lender, Nationwide who have a loyalty mortgage for 5.98% (no fees).
But what about legal fees? And are there any others which may suddenly spring on there? If it's just the above fees, then over the 5 years even with the extortionate arrangement fee, it's still cheaper than Nationwide.

I think as long as you are looking at the 'full cost over x years' rather than the APR all the relevant fees will be in there.
You also need to include any fees for closing your nationwide account.
You should also look to see whether there is a new customer deal with Nationwide that might be cheaper since you won't have any legal costs or valuation fees for transferring.
It may be that Brittania have some kind of free mortgage transfer service as far as legal costs go - it may be tricky to find out until you get your full mortgage quote from them with all the terms.
Good luck
