Bad back from sleeping

I have one of the big 'u' shaped cushions, which I found helped me. I was getting lower back pain and neck pain which I worked out was because I was sleeping on my side but with my shoulders flat, so my back was 'twisted' all night. I find that the big pillow keeps me from turning over but gives me the support that my upper back was missing. You can also put the pillow between your knees too, which helps when you're a side sleeper.0

OP, are your teeth in good shape?
The reason I ask is that I recently had an upper front tooth extracted and suddenly my chronic lower back pain has disappeared!
This tooth had previously been root canalled et al.
Who would have thought it?

Have you looked at your pillows? Changing pillows can make a huge difference. Front sleepers need different pillows to back or side sleepers. I changed mine, I sleep in the same position as you, to feather gusseted ones.0

My mother was a physiotherapist for years and she got a lot of patients that have changed both their pillows and their mattresses without any luck in getting rid of the back pain. Depending on the age some patients may have whats called a slip disk and may need to get it checked out with an x-ray. Perhaps that could work?0
