I've just turned 18 and I want to become a HGV driver. I'm doing my car license later this year/next year but should I wait till the original age requirement to start pursuing this at 21?

My brother did it at 19. I work with 2 lads, 1 of which did it at 19 & the other is now 18 i think and doing it. If he's not 18 then he's 19 but i'm pretty sure he's only 18. Is it correct that you have to have been passed for a year (car test) before you can do HGV?
Problem will be finding a firm who'll take on such an inexperienced driver. If you've got that one down then you've no problem.0 -
You can do it at 18, but I'd guess that insurance would be a difficulty.
