Mam is looking for a FreeView box for less than £30.
It will be used for the bedroom.
The main TV in the lounge has freeview built in and has a good signal, but a cheap £14 odd freeview from asda previously had very poor signal. Are there any boxes that have a better signal than others aswell as a better spec / model ?.

The Humax have a good reputation for quality build and known to work in places where other boxes wont due to there sensitive tuners. But they are way out of the £30 even the Fox-T (an old box now) is about £60
I have 3 Humax of different models are I would changed them unless they broke0 -
Sainsburys do an Alba for £17.99 and a Goodmans for £20.00 - can't comment on the Goodmans but the ALba was a good little, basic unit.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0

If you want to keep things simple and have less clutter around the TV, you could go for this one:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128637
If you select the 4 working day delivery its £28.58.
It plugs straight into the scart socket and then all you do is place the small IR eye near the front of the TV. Obviously it will need to be plugged into the mains, but once setup it's all stealth and their will be no need to make space for a "box" as such.
Hope that helps.0 -
ASDA are doning one for about £15
Not tried it though.0 -
The trouble I have is the asda one for £19.99 or whatever had a poor signal, maybe around 26 channels, some coming and going (when there is supposed to be 40+ on freeview ?).
So I need one with a better receiver, or a new aerial (sp?) if that would make a difference.
Currently they have sky cabled into the bedroom from downstairs and Dad is being sent down to change channels lol, so freeview in their room would give dad a good sleep and mam plenty of channels
