Excerpts from the Rules of ‘Alfa Naming’ prize contest::eek: (They go on and on and on and on and.......!)1. Contest area and eligibilityThis prize contest is open to all users aged 18 years and over, resident in the following countries:
Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Japan.
Collaborators and/or employees of FIAT GROUP AUTOMOBILES S.p.A., FullSix S.p.A., or any other company belonging to the FullSix group or FIAT GROUP AUTOMOBILES S.p.A. are not eligible to take part in the contest2. DurationThe prize-draw contest will run from November 01 2007 to November 15 2007 included.3. Products in promotionThe commercial aim of the contest is essentially to promote the launch of the new Alfa Romeo car, scheduled for 2008.4. How the contest worksThis choice of name, which will be by popular vote based on the name that gains the highest number of votes, will be made from a list of names chosen by an assessment committee at a separate stage of the contest. The committee reserves the right to exclude from the assessment process any names that break the law, that are offensive or in poor taste, or that are not in keeping with the spirit of the initiative.
This initiative will be run at different times for each reference country:- Germany: from 12 to 25 September inclusive;- France: from 20 September to 3 October inclusive;- Italy: from 23 September to 6 October inclusive;- Spain: from 25 September to 8 October inclusive;- UK: from 2 October to 15 October inclusive;- Japan: from 2 October to 15 October inclusive.
At the end of the last reference period, the names collected by the 6 sites named at point 1 will be examined by an assessment committee. This committee will draw up a short list of 12 Names, with 2 Names chosen from each reference country.
In addition to the twelve names chosen for the short list, the committee will also select two names for each country that are deserving of special mention. Those participants who have entered the short-listed names will each receive a prize, except in cases where it is discovered that the short-listed participant is not eligible to take part in the initiative (i.e. they are not
resident in the country of registration, or they are not yet 18 years of age when they register), or if they have given false information when registering for the initiative, in which case the suggested names will be excluded from the short list.
The short list of 12 will be published on each site named at point 1.
All those registered for the contest will be informed of the publication of the short list by means of a DEM (Direct E-Mail) in the days leading up to the start of the voting period.
Voting for short list
During the period from 12.00 midday of 01 November 2007 to 12.00 midday (in each country involved) of 15 November 2007, users who register with their reference site, and give their consent for handling of their personal details, will be able to vote for one of the two names chosen by the jury for that country, thus determining a first and second for each country involved.
All the names on the short list will receive a prize. The classification determined by the vote will therefore determine, for each country, how the two different types of prize will be awarded, i.e.:- Prize type A, awarded to those who receive the highest number of votes in each country
(first place)- Prize type B, awarded to those who receive the lowest number of votes in each country
(second place)
Prize type A: An Alfa Romeo Alfa Spider car
Prize type B: A weekend break for two
Participants may vote once only during the contest.
After the short-list has been drawn up and the favourite name from the short-list has been determined, a prize-draw will be held for all those who voted in the contest.5.
