TV Licensing and akinika debt recovery?

Hello all,

Despite my username, I have managed to fall behind of my TV Licence payments for the last 2 months and received a letter today asking for the overdue amount of £37.62 to be paid by 22nd June.

Now, I'm already in a DMP in the tens of thousands so this debt of £37.62 seems rather insignificant but I'm aware this is a priority debt and the letter says if I don't pay by 22nd June, it will be passed over to akinika debt recovery limited.

Has anyone had any experience of dealing with this company?

I won't be able to pay the amount overdue until the end of the month when I get paid, has anyone had any experience of TV Licencing extending the period to pay without going to debt collection?

Thanks,
Nic

Ask them, usually if you talk to people you can pretty much get anything you ask for, within reason.

Why not arrange to pay via direct debt, you can pay on anyone of 4 dates throughout the month.

Your signature says you started your dmp 2 months ago, and now you are 2 months in arrears with your priority payments.

It sounds like your dmp is set too high, or is just the wrong strategy for you

I'll second the suggestion to set up your TV license payments by DD - just be sure to go for the monthly option as paying by DD quarterly costs a fee I believe.

Not just live TV now though remember - iPlayer also requires a license.
