I'm thoroughly confused now, I just filled in our application for a joint loan with intellingent finance and at the end it asked me to ring them as they needed more details. No problem I thought, but I've just spent 15 minutes on the phone as their underwriters are insisting I might be known by another name?? I gave them my maiden name and my name from my first marriage (my second married name is the one I'm using now) but they were quite insistant that I had another name?? Should I be worried about this? I've got to ring back if I haven't heard from them by 3ish
I checked our credit rating a few months ago and there were no problems (we've never had any outstanding debts or CCJs) I just thought it would be a good idea to consolidate credit cards and get rid of them.

Hi beth
Can't comment on whether you have another name and what IF are concerned about. But don't forget - if you 'consolidate' credit card debt you are not 'getting rid' of that debt. You're only moving it to another place, possibly extending the term of payment, deluding yourself by thinking you've actually got more money to spend than you really have, and possibly paying more interest. If you have a good credit rating why not try putting your card debts on to another card at 0% interest and get rid of them that way?

Two thoughts occur.
1. Does a relative have a similar name or initials?
2. Did someone with a similar name live at your address before.
This does sound like a name mix up.
