hello all. has anyone on here ever had a loan from wentworth direct finance? i only ask as a friend of mine needs a loan but she has a very poor credit history and is unable to get a good deal on a loan.they have offered her £4000.00 over 4 years at 15.2% apr.i realise this is not an ideal situation but wondered if anyone has dealt with them and if they have, would you recommend them?

Hello
Can anybody help. The loan we did have was taken out in 2004. We are at the stage now of writing to the Ombudsman, however will they listen to the case.
It's just I have read on here that PPI was not regulated until 2005, so if it's the case that we can't go to them who would we go to?
Any help appreciated.

I was just wanting to know if I go to FOS with my PPI complaint, as PPI was not regulated by the FSA until 2005. The loan was taken out in 2004.
Not sure if I would be wasting my time going to FOSm or should I be going to someone else?
What does anyone think?

I fell fault to the same trap.
I sent off my £49 in good faith to get a loan in reply to a letter I received informing I was 'pre-approved' for an unsecured loan.
I then got 2 other companies phoning me up offering me secured loans based on the details I'd given Wentworth.
Wentworth stonewalled me when I phoned up to try and get a refund.
I did however find http://www.wecomplain4u.com/loanbroker recommended by a friend who had done the same, they have a real simple form that took me less than a minute to fill out.
They kept me regularly informed and within 2 weeks I had a cheque in the post.
For all those out there that have fallen for Wentworths possibly illegal activities I strongly recommend finding a way like this to get your money back and to boycot them so it doesn't happen to anyone else!
