What is the reason for the 2 year thing? What is significant about 2 years? Employers often say "3 month probation period". Really its 2 year probation.Sometimes my advice may not be great, but I'm not perfect and I do try my best. Please take this into account.0 -

I was talking to a manager earlier about whether we needed to set a probation period for another colleague who's been offered an extension of contract in a slightly different role. We agreed there wasn't a lot of point, given that we were sure this person can do the new role, even though it's different to their original role. And that we can still get rid of them pronto because they've not been with us for two years.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
