Halifax Mortgage - Legal & Genreral Surveyors?

I paid my valuation fee with Halifax during the week, whilst making my mortgage application.
Yesterday I received some random text messages from Legal & General Surveyors about an appointment next week. No real details given.
I was expecting Colleys to be carrying out the survey. Does anyone know if Halifax use L&G to do surveys?
Also, does this mean my application has effectively been accepted, subject to the valuation coming back ok?

If Colleys don't have coverage, they panel it out, possibly in this case to L&G Surveyors.
The valuation is instructed immediately in most cases and proceeds to offer when the valuation is returned.

Hi newbie here, so apologies if I make any mistakes.
We are in the exact same position with Halifax. ....stressful isn't it??
We applied through MA and the full application went in Wed this week. The valuation survey is booked for Mon, I've no idea if this means Halifax are fully happy with our application and have already assessed it? Or does it gets assessed after the valuation?
I'm going to have no fingernails left at this rate
Unable to speak to the MA until Mon.
Anyone know the process for Halifax.?
Thanks 😊0 -
Interested to know this too. Halifax carried out the valuation on Friday and told us that we should hear something by Tuesday. Can't help but worry that something could go wrong.0

So stressful isn't it?
I over think everything! I think MA's forget that Joe public doesn't try and buy a house regularly,
I need a step by step guide for my sanity.. I have a to do list to check off!! 😁0 -
Agreement in principle
Full application submitted and valuation fee collected
Valuation instructed
Supporting documents uploaded
Documents checked and signed-off
Valuation returned and assessed
Offer issued.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks Kingstreet, that's helpful.
So, if the valuation was instructed and the documents were uploaded on Monday, the underwriting should've been completed by the time the valuation took place on Friday? So in theory, the valuation should be the final piece of the puzzle?0 -

Thank you kingstreet, that's helpful and appreciated.
So technically if Halifax have booked the valuation date, they are "happy" with the application so far? Am i just over thinking that they may have just booked it without looking at the application and we could lose the fee.?
I feel like its been one hurdle after another to reach this point. 😊0 -
Cases are different and so is the process if you go direct compared with via a broker.
We submit the application, the valuation is usually instructed immediately and we upload the documents then phone and go over them and often the case is then subject to satisfactory valuation.
If there are any issues, the valuation might not be instructed immediately as it requires human intervention but there is no way of anyone knowing that who isn't involved in the case.I am a mortgage broker. Thank you again kingsman
Think I need to just stop thinking and be positive, my MA knows what he's doing.0 -

Worrying now that Halifax put it on hold as they have queried my wage slips.
