Help me get - Flo's v8 cafe - before xmas please

MYSTERY SOLVED - SEE BELOW - THANKS FOR THE ADVICE

Disney cars range has a building called Flo's V8 cafe.

My friend is desperate to get one for her Cars mad boy. However they do not seem to be readily available in the UK. They retail at about £16 but are scarse.

Amazon sellers are charging £56+:eek: . Ebay Uk sellers seem to be getting £40+ and postage costs:eek: , and the Ebay sellers from the United States are cheaper approx. £22.50 + £15 postage (but i am unsure if there is a further tax charge???)_pale_

Questions -
- Was there a safety issue with this model in the UK which has lead to poor availability?
- Does anyone know where we can get one for a reasonable price please?
- If we did have to buy from the US sellers do you get taxed on top?

I might be losing my marbles but I'm sure I saw some in a Woolworths/Toy Shop recently along with some Ramones body shops

Which Woolworths is the problem as it was a weekend when I drove from the South Coast to North West and back and went in about 6 different Woolworths/toy shops at various stops we had!

There wasn't a problem with the paint on this playset it was only with the 'Sarge' die cast car.

Have you checked a Disney Store near you to see if they have the playset or if they can get it for you? I'm sure I have seen some playsets in there but not sure which one.
Hamleys online have some Cars toys & 2 of the playsets, it might be worth keep checking because they may get more sets in.

I will keep a look out, I know I searched high & low for Chick Hicks last year and finally managed to get one just before Christmas!

There is a woolworths in my town so will check this tomorrow, will get a friend to check the Disney stores also

Thanks for the assistance again.

I havent had a chance to get into town yet, so I tried the Disney store on-line, and they have given me contact details of the guest relations, as they do not stock the item.

I also tried woolworths on-line, but they dont have it in the on-line store.

I will try this and also the matel contact numbers supplied by neiljc. Thanks again, will let you know how i get on.:A

I contacted both Matel and Disney -

Matel said the product was not sold in the UK (hence can't find it)
Disney said it is not sold in the UK because of safety reasons.

So now we know why we can't get it, without paying the high Amazon / Ebay prices.:mad:
