anyone any good recipes where you can make

a cake with apricot and lavender for example. i tasted it once abroad and it was fab. do you just get normal lavender pot pourri and cook with that or do you have to get some kind of liquid? thanks in advance.

    Pot pourri has all the chemical crap in such as essences and preservatives etc. See if you can get hold of the real thing or even Lavendar essence.

    Strangely enough I had an ice cream abroad which had almonds and lavender in it - lush! It even makes a good mousse...

    Try searching on the BBC website cooks recipes as I beleive they done something rather fancy with lavendar for masterchef.

    Hiya - I use a Women's Institute recipe which is really yummy and SO simple. It's one of my daughter's favourite cakes. It's just a lavender cake though, not got apricots in it.

    Basically it is just a standard basic sponge cake recipe with 2 teaspoons of dried lavender flowers added. I have lavender growing in my garden so I just dry my own.

    I am sure you should be able to buy unadulterated lavender flowers fairly easy though. I'll have a look and come back to you if I can find a link

    Oh, just found this link......they sell the dried lavender flowers as well as lavender essence and they even have some recipes
