Family Tree of Debt!

This is my first posting. I usually try to stay away from anything that will make me look at my debts. I come from a long family line of folks who have all fallen into the same old trap over the years! I'm always amazed that I get back to this stage... we are a nice middle class couple who run our own business. Money tends to come in in lumps, we pay off our business accounts every month but we always end up with loads of credit card debt. We remortgaged about three years ago and paid everything off but we have still managed to get to the stage where we are relying on the credit cards again. We now have about 19k outstanding on credit cards which I keep moving around, but I know that we have to start looking at this situation. We have one car loan sitting around £5800, IKEA card at about £500. We have not defaulted on anything yet! My OH is a great guy, but he panics if we talk about money, I don't have the chance to speak to anyone else about it, sorry for rabbiting on, but it's just good to talk about it.

    HI

It is great to be able to come on here and chat away about debt, and have [people understand how you feel, without having to always explain yourself! :)

Look forward to hearing more from you and if it would help, why don't you post your SOA (see the top stickie for new comers for more info on this) and we'll see if we can help at all.
